A new name was going to be on the Wessex League Cup irrespective of who won it as the 29th final took place within the splendid environment of the Raymond McEnhill Statium.

Wednesday 13 April 2016
These two clubs had never come across each other prior to this season but this proved to be the fifth time they’ve met in this campaign. The ‘score’ going into this one was 2-2 – this was the ‘seasonal decider’ as pre-match pundits said it was a tough one to call.

Saturday 5 March 2016
Team Solent visited the Raymond McEnhill Stadium five days following their excellent 3-1 League Cup win over the Whites at Test Park. They were perhaps expecting a reaction to that result as Salisbury looked to extend their lead at the top of the Wessex Premier Division table. Team-wise, Pitts and Johnson were starters for Solent this afternoon.

Wednesday 24 February 2016

With the BUCS season now at the ‘business end’ this clash between the top two sides went the way of Bristol as they opened up a lead at the top of the Western 2A table. The pitch was sticky but playable and one area, close to a touchline, was in a muddy state.

Saturday 6 February 2016
The conditions at St George’s Park were not conducive to good football as the pitch was damp and there was a very stiff wind gusting from one end to the other. The Solent side showed two changes to the team that won at Verwood in midweek with Waller-Lassen returning and a first team debut was handed to keeper Gibbs.

Wednesday 3 February 2016
Team Solent, meeting Verwood Town for the first time since March 2012, collected an efficient away victory to continue their recent good form. The Solent side showed one change from last time out, Wiseman coming in to replace the unavailable Waller-Lassen; Byles taking the captain’s armband.

Wednesday 3 February 2016
It was a bright but very breezy pitch 3 that greeted the team’s as the BUCS season got back on the road again following the break. Solent were looking to avenge a heavy loss at Plymouth earlier in the season; they not only achieved that but they did it in real style!

Tuesday 2 February 2016

Team Solent breezed through this quarter final tie at Dorchester with a fine overall team performance which included a most impressive four-goal haul from Ryan Heath.

Monday 25 January 2016

Team Solent moved to the top of the Wyvern Combination League table with an impressive 3-0 victory over a US Portsmouth side, who are one of only two teams to have beaten them in the league this season. However, the only Solent survivor from that early season defeat was the Club Manager James Taylor.

Saturday 12 December 2015
Team Solent travelled to Bemerton having beaten Blackfield last time out. They started this mid-table encounter with the local Harlequins fielding nine student players in their line-up. A strong breeze blew across the pitch.
